Move-in Checklist

First Month's Rent & Security Deposit

Your first month's rent check and security deposit are both due at the lease signing. Be sure to confirm the amounts with our team in advance.

Move-in Date & Inspection

Your initial move-in date will be set at the lease signing. All information about the initial inspection will also be provided at this time.

Utilities

As a Passport Property Management client, you are responsible for keeping all utility accounts in your name. Keeping these accounts current is also one of the stipulations of your agreement with us.

Move-out Checklist

Notice of Intent to Vacate

Planning to vacate your rental property? Please provide us with written notice of your intent to vacate the premises, giving us at least 60 days notice.

Remember, refer to your lease to determine your legal move-out date. You are responsible for paying rent through that date, regardless of whether or not you leave the premises early.

Property Condition

Before you return your keys to us, you must bring your home back to rent-ready condition. This includes the following:

  • Rental Cleaning: Your property needs to be thoroughly cleaned. All of your belongings and any refuse should be removed from the home. Go room to room and carefully wipe down all walls and counters. In kitchens and bathrooms, please take extra care to sanitize all appliances and hard surfaces. Floors also need to be properly cleaned.
  • Landscaping & Outdoor Areas: If you are responsible for outdoor landscaping at your property, please take care of these tasks once more before vacating the premises.`
  • Repairs: If any damage occurred in your rental during your stay, please take the necessary measures to address these issues. Nail and screw holes should be patched, burnt bulbs removed, and any broken glass replaced.
Security Deposit

The security deposit you pay at the outset of your lease is used to cover any damage that occurs during your stay. We will conduct a final inspection before you vacate the premises and if we identify any damage, we will make arrangements for repairs. All costs for such repairs will be deducted for your deposit and the remainder will be returned to you.

Please remember, the security deposit cannot be used to cover your last month's rent. Failure to pay rent may result in legal action and administrative fees.
